"Horizon for Development" Implements 12 Water Wells to Alleviate Water Shortages in Taiz Governorate

Amid the worsening water crisis in Taiz Governorate, Horizon for Development has implemented a vital project involving the drilling and installation of 12 water wells across various districts. The project directly benefits approximately 2,400 families in the targeted areas.

This initiative comes as part of the organization's ongoing efforts to ease the suffering of residents and improve living conditions, especially in light of the severe water scarcity caused by damaged infrastructure and the prolonged conflict. Many residents are forced to travel long distances or pay high prices to obtain water—challenges that heavily impact vulnerable families.

The project has provided a safe and sustainable water source, reducing the daily burden on women and children who often bear the responsibility of fetching water.

Horizon for Development affirmed that this project is part of its broader vision to improve access to water and sanitation services in crisis-affected communities. The organization remains committed to implementing development and humanitarian projects that ease hardship and support community resilience.

The workshop aimed to explore AI applications in improving project efficiency and reducing construction and maintenance costs. Horizon for Development took part in order to transfer knowledge and apply best practices in the humanitarian projects it implements.
The Horizon team benefited from the workshop by learning modern tools to reduce waste and enhance cost-efficiency—especially in its humanitarian projects such as building schools, healthcare facilities, and water projects—ensuring the delivery of sustainable, high-quality services to vulnerable communities.
