As part of the Government of Japan’s support for recovery and development efforts in Yemen, Horizon Foundation for Development (HFD), in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), welcomed H.E. Mr. Yoichi Nakashima, Ambassador of Japan to Yemen, on 23 June 2026 during a field visit to the Technical Industrial Institute in Al-Mualla, Aden. The visit was conducted to monitor the implementation of the "Provision of Market-Relevant Livelihoods Training in Aden, Lahj, and Ta’iz" project, funded by the Government of Japan. The project aims to equip young people and women with market-oriented vocational skills to improve their livelihoods and support economic recovery. During the visit, the Ambassador received an overview of the project's progress, toured the training workshops, and met with trainees to hear about their experiences and aspirations. He emphasized the vital role of vocational training in empowering youth and women and expanding their access to sustainable livelihood opportunities. The visit reflects the Government of Japan’s and IOM’s commitment to ensuring high-quality project implementation and highlights the strong partnership with Horizon Foundation for Development (HFD) in delivering impactful skills development programs in Yemen.
